Bottled Drinking Water

Bottled Drinking Water – Do Not Blindly Trust Any Brand Of Bottled Water

While traveling or during summers we avoid drinking water outside. Mostly we prefer bottled drinking water rather than other sources of potable water available. In this, care should be taken, since there are many deadly water borne diseases that affect our health badly.

If you feel thirsty nothing quenches your thirst better than chilled bottled water. We rarely doubt bottled water quality, since the water in bottles is properly filtered and is free from bacteria or viruses. The number of brands of bottled water available in the market raises one or two questions.

Do these manufacturers really maintain the quality of water and why is drinking bottled water really good for our health? Before we discuss these matters let us find out why people prefer bottled waters?

First the taste of bottled waters is better than other potable waters which are mostly tap water and chlorinated water. They are free from any additives and other salts which are not desirable for our stomach. More than that they assure you water free from any contamination. Besides these there are other reasons which make drinking bottled water recommendable.

Basically doctors and other health experts prefer that you drink bottled water, wherever you are, even at home. They suggest that if you dont bottled water, you either use a water purifier or boil water before you drink it. This is because plain water can do a lot of harm to your body.

The gut and liver are the organs of the body that are prone to water contamination. Diseases like jaundice, cholera, diarrhea, and typhoid infest our body due to drinking water containing undesirable salts, minerals, and microorganisms. Therefore, if you can spend a little on quality water, you save a good amount of money, which you would be spending on doctors and medicines. Above all, good water keeps you fit and healthy.

In spite of all these benefits, a study based on bottled water comparison has shown that the bottled waters of many brands cannot be trusted. The quality of water used in bottles doesnt meet the standards of pure water. Many brands only filter once before filling the bottles. This allows many bacteria to slip in the water.

Sometimes in the water purifying process, very low levels of pesticides are used. Studies have shown that even minute levels of pesticides can be harmful to your health. Another prominent fact is that most bottled waters are treated with ozone which provides residual disinfection. Now bottled water takes weeks in distribution and high temperature adversely affects the quality of water.

Therefore, we must take some precautions as well while drinking pure water in the bottles. Always purchase reputed and tested bottled drinking water to avoid these doubts. Also look for the date of manufacture, and avoid those bottles which have been manufactured 8 weeks before or earlier.
